Short answer

BPC-157 is a synthetic 15-amino-acid peptide described as a fragment of a gastric juice protein (BPC), sold here as a 5mg lyophilised vial from A$81 for laboratory research. Every batch is tested by [lab] before sale, and its certificate is linked below.

What is BPC-157?

BPC-157 is a synthetic peptide of 15 amino acids. Its sequence is described as a fragment of a protein found in human gastric juice, called body protection compound (BPC).

It also appears in the literature as Bepecin, PL-14736, PLD-116, PL-10, Body Protection Compound 157.

What has research on BPC-157 examined?

Most published work on BPC-157 comes from rodent models and cell culture (for example tendon, gastrointestinal and vascular injury models), much of it from a single research group. Human data are limited to small uncontrolled pilot reports (e.g. a 2-participant intravenous safety pilot); a PubMed search found no records indexed as controlled clinical trials.

The table lists primary sources by year and model. Findings describe the study subjects, not this research vial.

What adverse events have studies of BPC-157 reported?

Human data are limited to two small uncontrolled pilot reports: intravenous infusion in 2 adults, and a single bladder-wall injection in 12 women with interstitial cystitis. Both reported no side effects or adverse events (PMID 40131143, 39325560). No controlled human trials were found.

These findings describe the people or animals in each study. The sources list gives every PubMed record.

How do you reconstitute and store BPC-157?

Store the sealed vial frozen (about -20 degrees Celsius), dry and away from light until it is reconstituted.

After reconstitution with a sterile solvent, keep the solution at 2 to 8 degrees Celsius and avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Record the solvent, volume and date on the vial label.

BAC Water is the usual laboratory solvent. Dilute acetic acid is an alternative for peptides that dissolve poorly in water. The reconstitution guide and storage guide cover laboratory handling.
