GLP-1 and metabolic research peptides

Short answer

GLP-1 and metabolic research peptides are compounds studied in energy and glucose pathways. Semaglutide acts on the GLP-1 receptor, tirzepatide on GIP and GLP-1, and retatrutide adds the glucagon receptor. The group also includes MOTS-c, 5-Amino-1MQ and AOD-9604.

What are GLP-1 and metabolic research peptides?

GLP-1 and metabolic research peptides are compounds studied in energy and glucose pathways. Semaglutide acts on the GLP-1 receptor, tirzepatide on GIP and GLP-1, and retatrutide adds the glucagon receptor. The group also includes MOTS-c, 5-Amino-1MQ and AOD-9604.

The three incretin compounds differ in how many receptors they bind. Their research programmes differ too: semaglutide and tirzepatide have large phase 3 trial programmes, and retatrutide has phase 2 trials with phase 3 underway.

Which compounds are in this group?

PRODUCTWHAT IT ISSTRENGTHSFROM
5-Amino-1MQSmall-molecule quinolinium cation with no amino acids5mgA$68
AOD-9604Synthetic 16-amino-acid peptide modelled on a C-terminal fragment of human growth hormone, with one internal disulfide bond5mgA$58

SemaglutideGLP-1 receptor agonist10mgA$88
TirzepatideDual GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonist10mg, 20mgA$98

How do these compounds differ?

Semaglutide binds one receptor, tirzepatide two and retatrutide three. AOD-9604 is a growth hormone fragment, MOTS-c a mitochondrial-derived peptide and 5-Amino-1MQ a small molecule.

How is each batch tested?

Every batch is tested by an independent lab, [lab], before it goes on sale: purity by HPLC and identity by mass spectrometry. The certificate is published under the batch number printed on the vial.

Search any batch number in the certificate library. The testing page explains each method and its limits.

Legal status depends on the compound. 13 of the 28 research compounds in this range are listed in Schedule 4 of the Poisons Standard (prescription only), counting tesamorelin under the group entry for growth hormone-releasing hormones. 7 are also listed in Appendix D clause 5, which makes possession without authority an offence. The rest are not named in the Poisons Standard. Each product page states its compound's status, and Peptides Collective sells every product for laboratory research use only.

The legal guide explains each schedule, Appendix D and the WADA list.

How should they be stored?

Store sealed lyophilised vials frozen (about -20 degrees Celsius), dry and dark. Keep reconstituted solutions at 2 to 8 degrees Celsius and avoid repeated freezing and thawing.

BAC Water (sterile water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol) is the usual laboratory solvent. Dilute acetic acid is the alternative for peptides that dissolve poorly in water. Each product page names the solvent for its compound.

The storage guide and reconstitution guide cover laboratory handling.

Metabolic questions

What peptides are GLP-1?

Semaglutide binds the GLP-1 receptor alone. Tirzepatide binds GIP and GLP-1, and retatrutide binds GIP, GLP-1 and glucagon receptors. All three are sold here for laboratory research.

Can I buy peptides legally in Australia?

Legal status depends on the compound. 13 of the 28 research compounds in this range are listed in Schedule 4 of the Poisons Standard (prescription only), counting tesamorelin under the group entry for growth hormone-releasing hormones. 7 are also listed in Appendix D clause 5, which makes possession without authority an offence. Are these compounds legal to buy in Australia?

Legal status depends on the compound. 13 of the 28 research compounds in this range are listed in Schedule 4 of the Poisons Standard (prescription only), counting tesamorelin under the group entry for growth hormone-releasing hormones. 7 are also listed in Appendix D clause 5, which makes possession without authority an offence. Which compounds here are Schedule 4?

AOD-9604, Semaglutide and Tirzepatide are listed in Schedule 4 of the Poisons Standard. 5-Amino-1MQ, MOTS-c, Retatrutide are not named.

Is every compound in stock?

Every product is in stock at the time of this update. Stock shows on each product page and in the cart.
