Longevity research compounds

Short answer

Longevity research compounds are studied in cellular ageing and mitochondrial research. The group covers epithalon, SS-31, NAD+ and glutathione. NAD+ is a coenzyme with no amino acids.

What are longevity research peptides?

Longevity research compounds are studied in cellular ageing and mitochondrial research. The group covers epithalon, SS-31, NAD+ and glutathione. NAD+ is a coenzyme with no amino acids.

The group mixes peptides with non-peptides: NAD+ is a coenzyme and glutathione is a tripeptide made in most cells. SS-31 (elamipretide) has the most human trial data.

Which compounds are in this group?

PRODUCTWHAT IT ISSTRENGTHSFROM
EpithalonSynthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) modelled on a pineal gland extract (epithalamin)10mgA$53
GlutathioneEndogenous tripeptide antioxidant (gamma-glutamyl-cysteinyl-glycine)1500mgA$118
NAD+Dinucleotide coenzyme (not a peptide) involved in cellular redox reactions500mgA$94
SS-31Synthetic mitochondria-targeted tetrapeptide (D-Arg-2,6-dimethyl-Tyr-Lys-Phe-NH2) that binds cardiolipin10mgA$98

How do these compounds differ?

The four compounds act on different cellular systems, from telomerase research (epithalon) to mitochondria (SS-31) and redox (NAD+, glutathione).

How is each batch tested?

Every batch is tested by an independent lab, [lab], before it goes on sale: purity by HPLC and identity by mass spectrometry. The certificate is published under the batch number printed on the vial.

Search any batch number in the certificate library. The testing page explains each method and its limits.

Legal status depends on the compound. 13 of the 28 research compounds in this range are listed in Schedule 4 of the Poisons Standard (prescription only), counting tesamorelin under the group entry for growth hormone-releasing hormones. 7 are also listed in Appendix D clause 5, which makes possession without authority an offence. The rest are not named in the Poisons Standard. Each product page states its compound's status, and Peptides Collective sells every product for laboratory research use only.

The legal guide explains each schedule, Appendix D and the WADA list.

How should they be stored?

Store sealed lyophilised vials frozen (about -20 degrees Celsius), dry and dark. Keep reconstituted solutions at 2 to 8 degrees Celsius and avoid repeated freezing and thawing.

BAC Water (sterile water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol) is the usual laboratory solvent. Dilute acetic acid is the alternative for peptides that dissolve poorly in water. Each product page names the solvent for its compound.

The storage guide and reconstitution guide cover laboratory handling.

Longevity questions

Are peptides legal in Australia?

Legal status depends on the compound. 13 of the 28 research compounds in this range are listed in Schedule 4 of the Poisons Standard (prescription only), counting tesamorelin under the group entry for growth hormone-releasing hormones. 7 are also listed in Appendix D clause 5, which makes possession without authority an offence. The rest are not named in the Poisons Standard. Each product page states its compound's status, and Peptides Collective sells every product for laboratory research use only.

Are longevity peptides legitimate?

Longevity is a research theme, and no compound in the group is approved for it. Human data for this group ranges from none (epithalon, synthetic form) to controlled trials (SS-31). Each product page lists what studies examined.

What is a longevity peptide?

An informal label for compounds studied in cellular ageing research, such as epithalon and SS-31. It is not a regulatory category.

Are these compounds legal to buy in Australia?

Legal status depends on the compound. 13 of the 28 research compounds in this range are listed in Schedule 4 of the Poisons Standard (prescription only), counting tesamorelin under the group entry for growth hormone-releasing hormones. 7 are also listed in Appendix D clause 5, which makes possession without authority an offence. Which compounds here are Schedule 4?

Glutathione is listed in Schedule 4 of the Poisons Standard. Epithalon, NAD+, SS-31 are not named.

Is every compound in stock?

Every product is in stock at the time of this update. Stock shows on each product page and in the cart.

Where do orders ship from?

Orders ship tracked from Western Australia. Orders placed before [cut-off] leave the same business day. Delivery estimates for each state are on the shipping page.

What do these compounds have in common?

Each is studied in cellular ageing or mitochondrial research.

Which strengths are available?

Epithalon: 10mg; Glutathione: 1500mg; NAD+: 500mg; SS-31: 10mg.

How are they shipped?

Orders ship tracked from Western Australia. Orders placed before [cut-off] leave the same business day. Delivery estimates for each state are on the shipping page.

Which compound in this group has the most research?

Glutathione and NAD+ have the broadest literature. SS-31 (elamipretide) has the most controlled human trials among the peptides.

Do these compounds share a solvent?

BAC Water (sterile water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol) is the usual laboratory solvent. Dilute acetic acid is the alternative for peptides that dissolve poorly in water. Each product page names the solvent for its compound.
